This Spring we are delighted to present two special themed sections, namely “Abstractionism - The Resonance of Souls” and “The Brilliance out from the Melting Pot - Chinese Artists in the United States.” The former brings together 10 modern and contemporary artists with outstanding performance in the abstract genre in the 20th Century, including Chinese artists such as Ting Yinyung, Zao Wou-Ki, Chu Teh-Chun and Richard Lin, German artists A. R. Penck and Gerhard Richter, Yayoi Kusama from Japan, as well as Rhee Seundja and Chun Kwang Young from South Korea. Through their distinctive approaches and styles this curated group of paintings unveils the richness of abstractionism, inviting the viewers to experience the “Resonance of Souls” with the artworks.

 

The latter themed section is led by Yun Gee and Chao Chung-Hsiang, featuring 10 Chinese artists who were active in the United States and reflecting the artistic brilliance of New York in a golden era. The presented works include the Seated Nude, an ink and colour work on paper by Pan Yuliang and the largest to appear in the market in the past 10 years; the classic Self-Portrait (Stroller) from Zeng Fanzhi's Chaotic-Strokes Series; the appealing Stone Series of Zhou Chunya; representative works by Wang Yuping, Duan Jianyu and Huang Yuxing, leading figures of the New Generation and New Painting movement. Last but not least, Impressionist master, Pierre Auguste Renoir, and the legend of Romanticism, Jean Baptiste Camille Corot, are represented in the sale by works with illustrious provenance that are not to be missed.
