After two days' intense bidding, 54th China Guardian Quarterly Auctions came to an end with a total turnover of 82.31 million yuan on June 25.

"E-BIDDING Jewellery and Watches" session totaled 1.74 million yuan. Other five sessions also recorded good performances, with "Porcelain" and "Jade and Works of Art" achieving high turnover rates of more than 90 percent with many lots breezing past their high estimates.

Quarterly Auctions-Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy Department this season organized the lots from the same collectors or the same artists in one sector, which turned in very good results. Ten sectors among the 30 achieved a turnover rate of 100 percent. The department will continue to organize the lots in this way due to the positive response.

"Many lots sold much higher than their estimates, showing that the category has much potential in the market," Liu Yang, General Manager of Quarterly Auctions-Porcelain and Works of Art Department, said.

In the two-day auctions, many highlights emerged. A pair of Wucai bowls with dragon and phoenix patterns from the Qianlong Period of Qing Dynasty realized 460,000 yuan, a blue and white two-eared cup with flower patterns and wave mouth from the Yongzheng Period of Qing Dynasty 379,500 yuan, a Wucai bowl with dragon and phoenix patterns from the Kangxi Period of Qing Dynasty 345,000 yuan, and a pair of Jasper bowls from the Qianlong Period of Qing Dynasty 149,500 yuan, much higher than its estimate.

"Jade and Works of Art" gathered many kinds of jades, inkstones, bronze wares, enamel wares and bamboo and wood wares. The overall turnover rate of the session was as high as 90 percent, totaling 5.76 million yuan.
